Dreaming of having an internship in the nation’s capitol this summer? SLE is looking for passionate and driven undergraduates to spend the summer on a variety of projects.
The Student Language Exchange is…
A pioneer in diversifying language learning and global engagement in American universities. We build peer-led, semester-long programs introducing underrepresented languages and cultures to campuses across the country. Program graduates have started impactful social enterprises, launched advocacy programs, built online or in-person language learning communities, conducted innovative research projects in the region, and more.
We are currently operating at six universities (Brown, Brandeis, Columbia, Tufts, Williams, Vassar) and have offered programs in 25 languages (e.g. Amharic, Bengali, Cape Verdean Creole, Thai, Vietnamese). Although we have built some high-profile partnerships and garnered some public attention, we are still very much a startup with a lot of energy and opportunity! We will be working out of the Halcyon Incubator with several other innovative social enterprises, and interns will have many opportunities to network.
Be part of a dynamic leadership team, reporting directly to the Executive Director. Depending on interest and skillset, you will be placed in a team working on one of the following: partnerships, operations, curriculum, trainings, business strategy, campus outreach, government relations, advancement, or marketing.
Interns will be expected to commit to a full-time summer internship at our office. (Halcyon Incubator, 3400 Prospect St NW).
